It started as a movie. Firefly started as a show, and now has a movie. If the second movie is ever released, and the sales make it worth it, SciFi may also pick it up at some point. Will it match the quality of Whedon's work in season 1? No idea, but I would love it if they got the opportunity to try. Couldn’t agree more, but the sad part is (Though I don’t have a source so if anyone can check me on this one) Whedon seems to have gotten tired of making TV series, especially after how Fox went out of their way to kill the show, so he went to movies instead.

I was honestly surprised that the first one went to movie and SciFi didn’t take up the banner of Firefly and run with it until I heard that.

He also stated that he was assured he would be in it, but was unsure how they would do that. And by going with that thought, Sales of a second movie would determine if more financial backing was given to push the MMO foreward.(e.g. Licensing...it's all about the additionals to movies) I want me a serenity lunchbox!
